Rain...memories...life

A rain drenched evening, a cup of chai, a lovely poem and life looks beautiful!

Rain is such a romantic thing…
It brings with it the smell of the fresh earth, the childhood when I would run with the schoolbag strapped to my back, the rain splashing across my face! I never waited for the rain to stop…always ran in the rain!:P

Walking the lovely stretch from the 18th Cross bus terminus via the wooded iisc to work….with the sirigereya neerinali that the driver played keeping me company for the solitary walk…

School…summer holidays…sudden rains I sat watching through the window with cousins…eating mangoes...cooling off the heat and dust of an afternoon hide n seek played to hilt:)

jus gathering in the corridors and watch rain wash off the quadrangle…in college...those moments we all waited together to go home...n yet enjoyed the downpour...they always made me feel we were one family...oh MES:)

the day we walked in knee-deep water in chennai to catch a performance by my guru…dripping and huddling together to a lovely malayamaarutham...after walking half of chennai in the belief that if two places were close to Mount Road, they would be close to each other!:)

Rain drenched memories have always been of life lived to brim! Filling me with zest to get going on rainless days…

My thirst has not died, but thrives happily in the rain, in the happiness that rain fills me with…humming ‘maLeyu banda maarane dina mincha hanchide hoobana…’(a Kannada Bhavageethe)
Little things in life can bring you happiness, if you choose to…well, almost!
